Herb-Rubbed Party Nuts

Warm, savory, salty and crunchy are just a few words to describe these nutty little nibbles."Fast and easy" make them more enticing. You will want to have these ingredients as pantry staples to whip up a batch to satisfy a nibble craving or to set out when friends drop by for a glass of wine.

Ingredients:

  • 1 large egg, white part only
  • 2 tbsp. Made in Napa Valley Herbed Rub (choose from any of the rubs offered)
  • 3 c roasted almonds (or nuts of choice) Olive oil spray
  • 1 tsp. sugar (optional)

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

In a medium bowl whisk the egg white until frothy and whisk in the Herbed Rub.

Add the nuts to the egg mixture and stir to coat well.

Spray a large baking sheet with the olive oil and spread the nuts out onto the sheet in a single layer.

Place baking sheet in oven and bake 10 minutes.

If adding sugar, sprinkle it over the nuts before baking.

Serve warm.

Note:

The nuts can be stored in an airtight container in the freezer for several weeks and brought to room temp or microwaved for 30 seconds before serving.

This is a lower fat version, if that is not of concern to you, substitute a couple of tablespoons of melted butter for olive oil or for the egg white."
